Prof. Sir Konstantin Novoselov FRS
is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA Prof Sir Konstantin ‘Kostya’ Novoselov FRS was born in Russia in August 1974. Every year since 2014 Kostya Novoselov is included in the list of the most highly cited researchers in the world.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010 for his achievements with graphene. Kostya holds the position of a Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Professor at the National University of Singapore. He is also part time Langworthy Professor of Physics and the Royal Society Research Professor at The University of Manchester.
is the Director of Digital Couture and Optical Ink. Lindsay Hanson is the Director of Digital Couture and Optical Ink. Both of her companies collaborate internationally in order to provide education and material innovation services. Lindsay is a material designer and researcher with her primary focus being metamaterials and 2D materials for textile applications.
Her first peer-reviewed journal was published in 2021 by Advanced Materials Interfaces. Her educational background includes a BA in Fashion Design from Paris American Academy and a MA in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins.
This course aims to expand opportunities beyond the design field by providing an in-depth overview of fabricating novel materials for sustainable wearable textile applications.

Anyone holding a master’s degree or starting their master’s degree in any area of design such as fashion, textiles, materials etc.
Is this course a for-credit course?
Yes, this is a for-credit course and is recognised by the European credit transfer and accumulation system (ECTS). Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of accomplishment with the ETCS of the course and the final grade. The certificate will be given on the behalf of Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) and Jacobs University Bremen.

Where can I take the course?
It will be available to take online or at select universities. Through a university, ideally this course would be implemented into the university’s design curriculum in year one (first or second term) of a two-year master’s programme.

How long is the course?
The course is divided into 3 sections with 12 topic areas in total. The course is self-paced and could take on average anywhere from 2-4 hours depending how long it takes you to read the chapter, complete the quizzes, and/or finish the virtual lab.
